VETO UPHELD BY COUNCIL
Support for Eric Crafton’s English First bill has completely dissolved. Crafton needed 27 votes from the Metro Council to override Mayor Purcell’s veto of his bill. Tuesday night only 12 people voted to override the veto.
Crafton, who yapped to the media recently that he will, “let Mayor Purcell have his way for a short time,” still plans to try and get about 18,000 signatures by August to get his losery proposal on the ballot for the next election.
It’s my guess that perhaps some in the Metro Council may be growing tired of Crafton’s mouth as much as some of the rest of us. It’s obvious that the vote was brought up tonight to sort of rub Crafton’s nose in it.
